THE iNPENANG Best Guide 2024/25 magazine has listed five top cafes and restaurants in Penang for their unique concept and contribution to the local F&B and tourism scene.
The top five cafes and restaurants, recognised for their exceptional food and memorable dining experiences, are Project Can, Nyonya Palazo, Unknown Cafe and Bistro, Swatow Coffee Penang, and David Brown’s Hilltop Garden Restaurant.
Datuk Chng Huck Theng, the magazine’s chief editor, expressed hope that 2025 will be an even better year for Penang’s tourism and F&B industries, with more visitors arriving by land, sea, and air.
“Let us make sure we highlight our unique offerings so visitors can experience the very best of Penang.
“Together, let us transform Penang into the top destination for travel, living, investment, education, and healthcare,” Chng said during the iN Penang Best Guide 2024/25 Restaurant and Cafe presentation ceremony at Project CAN in Lebuh Gelugor today.
State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee Chairman Wong Hon Wai said that these selected cafes and restaurants reflect the diversity, creativity, and excellence that define Penang’s vibrant food and beverage industry.
“This initiative (magazine’s listings) not only highlights the best that Penang has to offer but also supports our local businesses by showcasing their unique qualities to a wider audience.
“Each of these venues brings something special, whether through their innovative offerings, unique atmosphere, or focus on quality.
“They have all played a key role in shaping the cultural and culinary identity of our beloved state. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
“Your dedication and passion continue to make Penang a top destination,” Wong added.
Also present were Project Can founder Shawn Tan, Nyonya Palazo founder Li Er, Unknown Cafe and Bistro founder Christine Ong, Swattow Coffee Penang founder Gan Soon Huat, and David Brown’s Hilltop Garden Restaurant manager Terrence Oo.
