DO you want to look good, feel good and give hope to needy cancer patients?
Now you can do all that by taking part in the iCUT for Charity programme by Penang Adventist Hospital Charity.
The Penang Adventist Hospital Charity – the charity arm of Penang Adventist Hospital – is hoping to raise RM25,000 in aid of its Cancer Fund.
Charity manager Jenny Ooi said the participants who wished to take part could have their haircut at any hair salon.
“The participant will have to take the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos. Cut and track the inches cut. After that, the participant can send the photos to 012-435 0701.
“We will get donors to donate upon your action,” she said today.
Ooi said that the charity arm hoped to achieve 100 inches of hair being cut.
“A sum of RM250 will be donated with every inch of hair being cut,” she said.
Ooi said that four renowned hair salons in Penang had come forward to be partners of the programme.
“They are Baptain Hair Salon, Hair Story International, Twiggy Salon and Wave Salon. They have pledged a prize each for the Weekly Longest Hair Cut contest,” she said.
The charity arm also appealed to the public to donate generously to the iCUT for Charity programme.
“Your donations will give hope to the needy cancer patients who will receive free or subsidised cancer treatments. These donations will also encourage participants to cut their hair in support of the programme,” Ooi said.
According to the Facebook page of Adventist Hospital Charity, the programme has managed to achieve 69 inches in hair metre as of Feb 16.
The iCUT for Charity programme was launched on Feb 7 and would end on March 6.
