RESIDENTS at Block A Taman Terukur Indah in Nibong Tebal can look forward to a better living environment as drainage upgrading and road tarring works are set to commence in their neighbourhood.

State Housing and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu announced that the entire project’s cost is estimated at RM115,400.

“The state will bear 20% of the cost, equivalent to RM23,088, while the management will bear the remaining 80% (RM92,352).

“We will only cover 80% of the costs when it involves maintenance works related to the building,” he said at a brief media conference at the site today.

Sundarajoo said the five-floor flat, consisting of 78 units, was built 14 years ago.

“This is our commitment to the residents to ensure they stay in a comfortable environment. We are always committed to improving their quality of life,” he emphasised.

Sundarajoo hoped the residents could live comfortably once the work was completed.

Jawi assemblyman H’ng Mooi Lye expressed gratitude to Sundarajoo and the state Housing Board for addressing the needs of the residents.

“We always look into the people’s plight and strive to ensure their interests are taken care of,” he said.
