RESIDENTS and local communities in the Pantai Jerejak state constituency had an amazing Sunday morning at the ‘Karnival Keluarga Madani DUN Pantai Jerejak 2023’ here at Dataran Mahsuri in Bayan Baru.
While market-goers enjoyed shopping at the ‘Jualan Agro Madani’, which was part of the carnival, children were having a fun time competing in a colouring contest.
Visitors were also treated to an upbeat Zumba workout at 8am.
State Agrotechnology, Food Security and Cooperative Development Committee chairman Fahmi Zainol said the carnival was held to foster close relationships among the communities.
“This is also a platform for government agencies to provide their services to the people, all in one location. We have various agencies that set up booths here today (Oct 29),” he said in his speech before opening the carnival.
Fahmi, who is also the Pantai Jerejak assemblyman, also thanked the Village Community Management Councils (MPKKs) for making the carnival a success.
Penang Island City Council (MBPP) councillor Chan Soon Aun, popularly known as ‘Cikgu Chan’ due to his previous profession as a teacher, told visitors to take advantage of the booth exhibition at the carnival.
“There are so many government agencies here today for the people to approach them,” he said.
Also present were MBPP councillor R. Hari Krishnan and Penang Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) director Mohd Azraie Ramli.
