TRADERS and market-goers continue to abide by the standard operating procedures (SOPs) at the Perak Road wet market here.
Rela personnel can be seen manning the entrance of the market to ensure that the public strictly abide by the SOPs.
Biscuit seller Ooi Siew Tin, 66, said the community must play their role and stay safe.
“The authorities are here to ensure that the people adhere to the SOPs.
“However, it is more important that we strictly follow the rules. We must not let our guard down,” Ooi said.
Titbits seller Goh Ewe Choe said the small businesses were suffering due to the pandemic.
“However, we have to continue to persevere. We just have to follow the SOPs and carry on with our business,” Goh said, adding that he had been selling titbits for several decades.
Bread seller V. Kiruttinan, 51, said he would ensure that his customers abide by the SOPs before he serves them.
“I will only take orders from customers who strictly obey the SOPs. The customers will have to wear their face masks and queue up with proper physical distancing.
“We need to play our part to win this war against the Covid-19 pandemic,” Kiruttinan said.
