THE Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) has officially launched its online survey to get input from the public on the council budget in 2021.
MBSP mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud said the survey would last for a month starting from today (April 19) until May 18.
“Seberang Perai residents, regardless of age and background, are invited to give their valuable views, opinions and ideas through the council official website at https://www.mbsp.gov.my/ .
“From there, they need to select ‘MBSP Budget Survey 2021’ located in the ‘Announcement’ section to begin.
“Their inputs will then be analysed to draft the MBSP Budget 2021.
“This is important for us to ensure that the budget is as comprehensive as possible and meet the needs of Seberang Perai residents,” Rozali told the public via Facebook Live on the MBSP Facebook page today.
According to Rozali, the council decided to conduct an online survey this year instead of a usual ‘town hall’ dialogue session like previous year mainly because the movement control order (MCO) is still in effect.
“Usually, we will do a town hall dialogue session where we can gather Seberang Perai residents to give their inputs.
“But due to the MCO enforcement, we have taken the initiative to conduct an online survey to gather people’s opinions regarding the budget.
“It is much safer that way and can prevent the risk of Covid-19 infection among the people,” he added.
On a separate matter, the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) has introduced a special pass for food deliverers and registered traders and hawkers under the council to move around much easier to conduct their business activities during the MCO period.
MBPP mayor Datuk Yew Tung Seang said after a thorough discussion with the police, the special passes would only be limited to the movement to the business premises, the movement of food delivery services and transportation of essential goods only.
“The travel is also limited to 10km radius only from the registered business premises based on the council approval.
“Those interested can register and fill in the form through https://forms.gle/83T69rq1XFLXuPzY7 ,” he said.
