TWO Umno members were sworn in at the oath-taking ceremony at the Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) hall today, thus completing the list of 24 MBSP council members for the 2023/2024 period.
Their swearing-in ceremony followed the oath-taking of 22 MBSP councillors (from other parties of the unity government), including 12 new faces, on Oct 2.
Datuk Mohd Noor Ahmad and Datuk Omar Abdul Hamid affirmed their commitment before Local Government, Town, and Country Planning Committee chairman Jason H’ng Mooi Lye, MBSP mayor Datuk Azhar Arshad, and MBSP city secretary Badrul Amin Abdul Hamid.
Both Mohd Noor and Omar expressed their enthusiasm and shared their thoughts with Buletin Mutiara.
Mohd Noor, a former councillor with Seberang Perai, conveyed his eagerness to serve the community, reflecting on his past experience.
“From 2002 to 2008, I was a councillor representing Seberang Perai Municipal Council (MPSP). I entered politics in 1993.
“I hope that with my previous experience as a councillor I can help boost the development in Seberang Perai,” Mohd Noor said.
Omar, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude to the government for entrusting him with the responsibilities of a councillor.
“I am grateful, and certainly with the experience of more than three decades in politics, I will continue to contribute to the advancement of the state of Penang to its highest potential,” Omar enthused.
