THE Malaysia Hindudharna Mamamdram Association (MHMA) this evening sought the State Government’s help to acquire a piece of land to build a premises for its welfare activities.
MHMA chairman V. Nanda Kumar during the courtesy visit of his association to Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow forwarded the request to acquire the lease of a piece of land located along Jalan Waterfall for the said purpose.
Nanda Kumar said the premises will house the various welfare activities of the association which the existing site could not accommodate.
“MHMA covers 28 Tamil schools, dealing with religious education and welfare activities,” Nanda Kumar told the chief minister.
He also requested the state government’s help in finding jobs for single mothers from the Indian community.
Nanda Kumar was accompanied by MHMA secretary N.S. Thanabalan and several committee members.
Nanda Kumar also mentioned that the association will hold the World Yoga event for next year at the Esplanade ground.
He also congratulated Chow for his appointment as the new Chief Minister of Penang and said the association will always work with the state government to achieve its vision.
Meanwhile, Chow said the requests of MHMA will be looked into and follow ups will be done accordingly.
