THE newly launched Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) 2018 live tracking app will now ensure that its participants compete in a fair and square manner while minimising loopholes for cheating.
Speaking at the launch of the app on Nov 8, exco member for Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture & Arts Yeoh Soon Hin who chairs the PBIM, said the added feature will also ensure the safety of participants and give peace of mind to their loved ones.
“This live tracking feature to the mobile application provides real time location of the participants who will be taking part in PBIM on November 25.
“This is in line with our initiative to elevate PBIM to a higher level and offer a better experience for our runners, which come from various age groups,” Yeoh told the media.
“The app also gives the users access to the latest PBIM updates at their fingertips including event programmes and course maps for full marathon, half marathon and 10km. Participants can also capture the moment through selfies using the app with exclusive PBIM or IJM templates which can be shared via social media or messaging platforms,” he added.
The newly launched app is now available on IOS and Android for free and is sponsored by IJM Land Bhd in collaboration with the PBIM committee.
Also present was IJM Land Bhd (Northern Region) general manager Datuk Toh Chin Leong.
