THE parents of a pertussis baby yesterday expressed their gratitude to a federal minister for his financial aid to their two-month-old baby warded at the Penang Hospital.

Keisha Adelia Mohd Zakey, who is having a whooping cough, has been warded at the hospital for 40 days.

Saifuddin holds on Keisha while her mother looks on from beside when met at Penang Hospital.

Speaking to Buletin Mutiara when met at the ground floor of the ward, her mother Mazlizan Sahid, 38, said she was worried for Keisha for coughing non-stop.

The infection can cause a child to struggle to breathe and turn blue.

The housewife said the baby also had breathing difficulties two weeks after birth and was warded in hospital for observation.

Mazlizan speaks to Buletin Mutiara on her child’s condition.

According to Mazlizan, Keisha’s condition has been improving and she hoped the baby would be discharged soon.

She also thanked Pantai Jerejak assemblyman Datuk Saifuddin Nasution, who is also the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister, for coming all the way from Kuala Lumpur to visit Keisha despite his hectic schedule.

Mazlizan and her husband are staying in Sungai Nibong Besar, which comes under Saifuddin’s constituency.
