NINJA Mart Network, which has set up three convenience outlets in Penang so far, is committed to giving back to society as they profit from their business.
Its programme manager Hasni Abd Wahab said the company’s goal is not just to make money but also plans to carry out charity work every month.
“My boss (Dr CK Neoh) is a businessman with a heart for the needy. The more profit we make, the more we give back to society. He wants this to be our company’s CSR (corporate social responsibility).
“We don’t have any target group. Our charitable deeds will include orphanages, old folk homes, mosques and the needy from all races and religions. As long as there is a need, we donate,” Hasni told Buletin Mutiara in a recent interview at Chulia Street where its outlet was opened on Dec 2.
Ninja Mart Network held a grand opening at its first outlet in The Clovers in Bayan Lepas in July, followed by another grand outlet opening in Gottlieb Road in September.
“We intend to grow our business and aim to establish 30 outlets throughout Malaysia in two years. We provide food products and other merchandise.
“Right now, we have done some homework and plan to open outlets in Johor and Sabah,” Hasni added.
She said the company’s concept is to also create spaces for customers to relax while having a drink or some noodles at their outlets.
The outlets, Hasni said, also support local small and medium enterprises by putting their products for sale at the convenience stores.
In fact, the Ninja Mart Network outlet in Chulia Street in the heart of George Town also sells freshly made sushi and yong tau foo apart from an assortment of drinks and beverages, snacks and daily essentials from several Asian countries.
There, chef David Goay, who has 24 years of experience in the culinary business, makes delicious sushi upon order and is reasonably priced. Goay also trains other staff members to make sushi.
Besides Ninja Mart Network, Dr Neoh also runs a few other businesses, including staffing services whereby they find talented people for their clients and provide employment opportunities for part-time students.
