INNOVATION creates positive change and opens up more opportunities. That’s exactly what a local school here in Penang, called SK Seri Permai, has done after being shortlisted for the World’s Best School Prize for the innovation category.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek visited the school this morning, and she was given a tour of the classrooms that have been equipped with the Smart and Easy Desk (SnET) 2.0.

During her speech, she said she was proud to see what SK Seri Permai has produced in the last few months, redefining innovation and elevating Malaysian education.

“Through such an inventory model, it is proven that we can succeed with our own creation.

“The students at schools just need a platform to allow them to exploit their abilities, and SK Seri Permai is certainly a very good example of it.

“Besides being given the platform to pursue, what’s even more important is to have the right guidance from dedicated teachers.

“I believe with the right guidance, all the students can soar high and achieve their goals,” Fadhlina said in her speech during a brief celebration to mark the school’s success at the school’s premises in Bayan Baru today.

She also expressed her admiration for the Borai performance by the students, acknowledging its powerful messages, and the students’ incredible energy and commitment. She lauded their dedication and love for the school.

At the event, Fadhlina also announced an allocation of RM150,000 from her ministry to further enhance the school’s facilities.

The five World’s Best School Prizes, founded last year by T4 Education in collaboration with Yayasan Hasanah, Accenture, American Express, and the Lemann Foundation, are the world’s most prestigious education prizes.

Also present during the event were Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin and SK Seri Permai principal Mohammad Sabarullah Shaik Ismail.
