More CCTVs for Taman Free School neighbourhood

TO further enhance safety, the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) recently installed a total of 15 CCTV cameras in the Taman Free School neighbourhood to supplement the existing surveillance infrastructure.

Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh, who is also the Human Capital Development, Science, and Technology Committee chairman, disclosed that these CCTVs have been strategically installed in blocks L, M, and N.

“Taman Free School has always been very close to my heart, and it is important to know that this is one of the oldest public housing schemes built in Penang.

“Apart from the CCTVs, we have done lift upgrading work, replacement of lifts, and rewiring work.

“We will also continue with the repainting work,” Jagdeep said during his visit to Taman Free School on Sept 9.

It has been learned that a total of six CCTVs were installed there earlier, and the CCTV operation center is linked to the police.

Jagdeep, who is the Datok Keramat assemblyman, assured that the state government will continue with its maintenance work in the Taman Free School neighbourhood to enhance the liveability of the residents.

He also shared that a total of RM3.2 million was allocated to implement the various maintenance projects in the Taman Free School neighbourhood, including lift upgrading, replacement of lifts, repainting work as well rewiring works.
