More developments in Bagan parliamentary constituency

SEVERAL infrastructure projects are set to take place in the Bagan parliamentary constituency aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

 

Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng announced that this year, the Federal government has approved an additional allocation of RM1.1 million for development projects in the neighbourhood.

 

”This year, the Bagan parliamentary constituency are receiving an additional allocation of RM1.1 million, following my application to the Prime Minister.

 

“Among the projects that will be implemented are concrete drain upgrading works at Jalan New Ferry, Jalan Telaga Air, and Kampung Gajah.

 

“Apart from that, it will also include the upgrading of the pedestrian walkway at Bagan Luar, repainting of faded lines on the Federal roads, and concrete drain upgrading works at the junction of Bagan Luar and Jalan Telaga Air.

 

“It will also involve the upgrading of the scupper drain in front of Bagan service up to Lotus Bagan Ajam,” Lim said during a press conference at the Bagan Service Centre today.

Lim added that the public will benefit when the state government and the Federal government work together.

 

“Last year, the Bagan parliamentary constituency also received an additional allocation of RM1.35 million,” he added.

 

Meanwhile, Senator R.A. Lingeshwaran shared details about the construction of a new Mak Mandin Health Clinic at Jalan Thamby Kecil, which will cater to 300-500 patients per day.

 

“The project, with an estimated cost of RM42 million, will also include the construction of four quarters. Construction will commence in April 2025.

“The health clinic is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

 

“The existing Mak Mandin Health Clinic will be upgraded to a dental specialist clinic,” he added.

 

Other than that, Lingeshwaran said the Butterworth Health Clinic will also be rebuilt at an estimated cost of RM80 million, including 12 quarters.

 

“During Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad’s visit to the clinic on June 7, he approved our proposal to rebuild the existing Butterworth Health Clinic.

 

“It will cater to 500-800 patients per day.

 

“The Health Ministry will also provide an ambulance for the Butterworth Health Clinic, which will be its first ambulance,” he added.

 

It is learned that the Mak Mandin Health Clinic will be equipped with an ambulance after the construction is completed.

 

On a separate matter, Lim also supported the decision made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to join the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), an intergovernmental organisation.
