FOR the past five months, the unity government under the administration of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been making a positive impact on the country’s development by introducing policies to address economic and financial issues, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said.
Chow looked forward to more key projects and approvals to be announced to boost and instil greater confidence among the electorate, considering that the state polls are only two to three months away.
“Under the new unity government, the Prime Minister made several key decisions to revive the country’s economy.
“In another two to three months, the state polls for six states will happen, and we hope more good policies can be introduced during this period,” Chow told the reporters after attending the St George’s Church carnival in conjunction with the church’s 204th anniversary in George Town today.
The elections, which many say could happen simultaneously in July, will involve six states, namely Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu.
Chow said the DAP, which is a party in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, practices transparency and fairness to all races, religions and communities.
“We will only continue to fight for a government that is for the people.
“PH is for all regardless of religion or race. We need a government that is multiracial, and that is a scenario that we want to promote in Malaysia,” he said.
