THE alleyway beside the Beach Street Fire and Rescue Station in George Town, often recognised as one of Penang’s most beautiful, now proudly displays a fresh, vibrant look in honour of National Day.
Adorned with the Jalur Gemilang waving gracefully in the breeze, the alley embodies Malaysia’s spirit of multiculturalism and unity.
Decorations representing Malaysia’s three major ethnic groups showcase the nation’s rich cultural heritage, drawing residents and tourists to admire and capture its beauty.
This initiative was sponsored by The Learning Kingdom Education, with significant support from Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Wong Yuee Harng.
The Learning Kingdom Education chief executive officer Dr Lee Eng Wah remarked that through this initiative, the organisation aimed not only to honour the nation but also to instil in the younger generation the importance of embracing and cherishing Malaysia’s multicultural heritage.
“Education extends beyond the classroom, and through practical action, we strive to promote the values of unity and shared prosperity,” Dr Lee emphasised.
Wong expressed his strong support for the event, stating: “Penang’s diversity is a valuable asset to our nation, and this diversity is vividly showcased through this event.”
“During National Day, we not only celebrate the nation’s independence and progress but also strengthen bonds and understanding between different ethnic groups through such community activities.
“This event demonstrates how we can highlight our unique identities while reinforcing our collective unity, deepening the emotional connections within our communities,” Wong added.
