A NEW application called ‘One Click Hub’, designed to connect businesses with consumers seamlessly, was launched in Komtar today.

Its founder Helmy Samsudeen explained that while the application aims to expose consumers to various businesses, specifically from the creative industry, it also focuses on providing a secure experience for users interacting with business operators.

“We have been hearing a lot of scam cases of late, and scammers are exploiting areas where one might expect to be scammed.

“To combat this, only clients verified through the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) will be registered on our platform to ensure a safe and transparent connection with consumers.

“The application will initially target industries such as photography, videography and food catering, but will also open to other relevant sectors,” Helmy said during the launching ceremony of the application in Komtar today.

The team aims to register at least 10,000 clients by the end of this year.

The application can be downloaded via the App Store and Google Play Store.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who was present to officiate the launching, noted that the application was in line with the Penang2030 vision, and commended the team for the effort.

“I believe this application will be instrumental in supporting the various business operators in Penang, giving them a platform to promote their products creatively.

“Embracing digitalisation is an important way of trying to make ends meet in this modernised world,” Chow said.

On another matter, Chow reiterated that the Penang government is ready to face the Kedah government in court regarding the water dispute, where Kedah is demanding Penang pay for the raw water abstracted from Sungai Muda.

He was responding to a question by a journalist after it was learned that the issue was debated in the Kedah State Legislative Assembly recently.

Among those present during the ceremony earlier were state Trade, Entrepreneurial Development and Rural Development Committee chairman Datuk Rashidi Zinol and his predecessor Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Hussain.
