New designs for eight bus stops in Pulau Tikus neighbourhood

FOR the past five years, the Village Community Management Councils (MPKKs) and Women and Family Development Committee (JPWK) under the Pulau Tikus constituency have conducted various programmes for the local community.

The MPKKs include MPKK Pantai Molek, MPKK Midland Berjaya, MPKK Persiaran Gurney, MPKK Kampung Sireh/Kebun Nyior, MPKK Kampung Herriot, MPKK Bangkok Lane, MPKK Kelawai as well as JPWK Pulau Tikus.

The activities were compiled and made into respective bus stop designs called ‘Galeri Pulau Tikus’, in which a total of eight bus stops in the Pulau Tikus neighbourhood have been designed with it.

Pulau Tikus assemblyman Chris Lee said the designs also have the ‘Bangkit Untuk Pulau Pinang’ slogan to encourage all Penangites to do their part in the upcoming state election.

“The ‘Bangkit Untuk Pulau Pinang’ slogan was initiated to make our Penangites understand that it is important for them to come back and vote in the state election.

“Penangites should be proud of Penang’s rich history and its diverse culture. And they should also shun the voices that try to bring negativity,” Lee said during a press conference at the bus stop in Burma Road today.

Also present were MPKK Persiaran Gurney chairman Ooi Su Ching and MPKK Kampung Sireh/Kebun Nyior chairman Bhawani Nadarajan.
