PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has been provided with a new state official car to replace the previous car which was bought in 2013.
The official car, a Mercedes S560e (Year 2019), was purchased on December 31 last year after it was approved in a state executive council (exco) meeting on Nov 29, 2019.
According to the statement by the State Secretariat Office, the cost of the vehicle was RM458,122.78; with a RM127,765.22 discount from its original price.
The previous state official car, a Mercedes S300L, was bought in 2013 at RM298,263.75.
When met after the swearing-in ceremony of the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) councillors at City Hall, Chow said it has been about seven years since the last state official car (for the Chief Minister) was replaced.
