NGO collaborates with state govt to assist B40 students with online learning

PENANG Tzu Chi received a total of 100 laptops from the state government via the Penang E-Learning Computer Programme’s new scheme, called ‘Lease to Use,’ to help students from B40 group with their online classes.

State executive councillor for Non- Islamic Religious Affairs and Social Development Chong Eng said the laptops would be given as a loan for a period of one year.

“These laptops (refurbished laptops) will be on lease for one year with a payment of RM1 per day or RM30 per month in which the state government will bear the cost for the first six months.

“For the remaining six months, the Penang Tzu Chi will be taking the responsibility with the payment.

“Thank you for joining hands with us in this programme and I hope that we will continue working together,’’ said Chong Eng after presenting the laptops to the representatives from Penang Tzu Chi at their centre today.

Chong Eng conveyed her deepest gratitude to Penang Tzu Chi for their various community work

Chong Eng, who heads the Penang E-Learning Computer Programme, extended her appreciation to the Penang Tzu Chi for their tremendous contribution towards the community.

“Moreover, you are also helping our hospitals by supplying them with the medical equipment that are needed urgently.

“I would like to convey my deepest gratitude for all your good deeds thus far. You are always at the forefront to serve the community whenever there is a need or during an emergency’’ added Chong Eng.

Earlier on July 8, the state government has also contributed a total of 20 laptops and personal computers (PCs) to Penang Tzu Chi to be given away to deserving students.
