PENANG has no plans to declare a public holiday if the unity government secures a majority in the state election tomorrow (Aug 12), says caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

He was asked by reporters if Penang would emulate Selangor’s unity government, which has promised a public holiday if they are victorious.

Chow expressed confidence that the Penang unity government could achieve a two-thirds majority or secure at least 30 of the 40 seats to be contested.

He said since the campaigning period concludes today, the voters have by now made up their minds on their preferred candidates.
