THE Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) will be offering about 5,000 free courses for Malaysian individuals or groups during its National Training Week 2023 (NTW 2023).

HRD Corp chief executive officer Datuk Shahul Dawood said the NTW 2023 would be held from May 22 to 28.

“We hope to draw 5,000 trainers and collaborators for the NTW 2023, and they are expected to train up to 125,000 participants during the week-long nationwide training events,” he told Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow during a courtesy visit at his office in Komtar this evening.

Joining Shahul were HRD Corp chief financial officer Mohamad Farizul Yahaya, the corporation’s chief programmes officer Soffian M. Amin, its northern region head Suraindran Visuvanathan, and other delegates.

Shahul said participants could benefit from the wide range of training topics, and courses are open to participants of all ages – ranging from preschool children to senior citizens.

Soffian said the NTW 2023 also targeted employers, industry associations, and business chambers.

“NTW 2023 participants will be able to boost employment or career advancement opportunities through self-development; while the industries would be able to improve competitiveness and address skills gaps,” Soffian added.

The HRD Corp team also highlighted the upcoming National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition 2023 (NHCCE 2023), which will be held at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre on May 31 and June 1.

The two-day conference, themed HR 5.0: The Next Evolution in Human Resource Development, will feature constructive discourse that blends national perspectives with local insights and challenges across five essential tracks.

Shahul said NHCCE 2023 participants would be able to learn from some of the country’s renowned innovators and leaders as they discuss solutions to current human resources (HR) challenges, in preparation for HR 5.0.

According to the event prospectus, HR 5.0 is the critical new approach to human resources that will empower HR professionals and organisations to adopt innovative solutions, garner data-driven insights and utilise key analytics for effective decision-making.

NHCCE 2023 is organised by HRD Corp, in collaboration with Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC). The conference is supported by the Ministry of Human Resources.

He also hoped that industry players in Penang would grab the opportunity to be part of the NHCCE 2023.
