A TOTAL of 40 office chairs with an estimated cost of RM32,000 were donated to the northeast district police headquarters in Patani Road today, courtesy of caretaker state executive council member Jagdeep Singh Deo.

Jagdeep, who is in charge of the state Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning portfolio, said the Penang government truly appreciates all the valuable contributions from frontliners, especially the police force in the state.

He said the state government will never forget all their sacrifices when carrying out their duties and responsibilities during the lockdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Thus, I want to take this opportunity to thank all frontliners in the state. It is not an easy task but they have done an amazing job and I think they must always be given the highest recognition and that is why I am here today,” he said during the handover ceremony.

Also present was Northeast district police chief ACP Soffian Santong.

Soffian also thanked Jagdeep for all the support and assistance given to the northeast district police headquarters all these years.

“This is not the first time we have received such a contribution from YB Jagdeep and we would like to thank him for that as he has always stepped forward to help whenever we need his assistance,” he said.
