WARNING signboards will be installed to enhance safety at Pantai Kuala Muda, and relevant authorities will inspect the area to further improve safety.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced these safety measures following the tragic drowning of 14-year-old Lim You Yi and 26-year-old Ho Wei Keat, both members of the Persatuan Sukan dan Kebudayaan Tiong Hua Kepala Batas, on June 16.
“This is not the first time such an incident has occurred; it has happened previously,” Chow said, emphasising the need for immediate safety measures.
Chow paid his last respects to Lim at the funeral parlour in Sungai Puyu on Monday (June 17). Earlier, he attended the wake service for Ho at Lahar Kepar, Kepala Batas.
Also present were state Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai, Sungai Puyu assemblyman Phee Syn Tze, Bagan Jermal assemblyman Chee Yeeh Keen, and former Sungai Puyu assemblyman Datuk Seri Phee Boon Poh.
