SOME 38 village homes now have cleaner water and stronger water pressure after the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) replaced the old water supply pipes and changed the piping system at the village.
Paya Terubong assemblyman Yeoh Soon Hin said the villagers of Kampung Desa Permata sought his help to address the low water pressure and rusty water in the village.
“The village is about 40-years-old and the pipes were old.
“I wrote to PBAPP to change the piping system and the corporation started the works in November last year.
“It took about a month to replace the old piping,” he told a press conference at Solok Zoo 1 today.
Yeoh said the cost of the project was approximately RM200,000 and was borne by PBAPP.
“This shows that the state cares for the welfare of the people.
“It is also one of my efforts as a state assemblyman to increase liveability and the quality of life of the residents of Paya Terubong,” he said.
