THE Penang Island City Council (MBPP) today announced that 50 stalls at various markets, complexes and hawker centres on the island are open for rental.
Those interested can register online from Aug 10 to 21.
The 50 vacant stalls include the selling of fish, chicken, vegetables, flowers, eggs, food stalls and other grocery items.
MBPP Licensing and Public Health Committee alternate chairman Nicholas Theng Jie Wey said applicants can register through https://elesen.mbpp.gov.my website starting tomorrow (Aug 10).
“Any applications after Aug 21 will not be entertained.
“Importantly, applicants are required to give their right contact numbers in order to receive notifications from MBPP regarding their applications.
“WhatsApp will be used as the immediate medium to keep the applicants informed of their status,” Theng said during a virtual press conference via Zoom today.
Moving forward, Theng said eligible candidates would be notified to attend a short course online on Aug 22 to brief the applicants on how to use the Zoom application when required to attend the actual online interview on Aug 23.
“This is to avoid them facing any difficulties during the actual interview due to challenges faced in the previous years,” he added.
