JOY and excitement lit up the faces of 45 orphans as they each received RM100 cash vouchers to shop for new Hari Raya outfits at Sunshine Central in Air Itam today.
The children, from Wisma Yatim Lelaki Islam Pulau Pinang and Wisma Yatim Perempuan Islam Pulau Pinang, eagerly browsed through festive attire at Space by Sunshine, making their selections for the upcoming celebrations.

Sunshine Amanjaya Sdn Bhd director Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Rafique Karim, said the annual initiative is part of the Sunshine Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to ensure that every child can celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with joy and confidence.

“These vouchers can be used at Space by Sunshine to purchase new clothes for Hari Raya because we believe that every child deserves to experience the festive season with happiness and dignity,” he said.

He added that the programme also aims to foster a spirit of compassion and strengthen ties between Sunshine Group and the local community.
“Through this initiative, we hope to spread love and kindness while making a meaningful impact in the lives of these children. May this CSR programme bring them joy and make their Hari Raya even more special,” he said during the event.
The occasion was graced by Persekutuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Islam Pulau Pinang president Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Yussof Latiff and Sunshine Wholesale Mart chief executive officer Cynthia Hwang, who joined in the heartwarming experience.

Meanwhile, Mohd Yussof said the programme not only provided the orphans with an opportunity to shop for new clothes but also served as a reminder of the importance of giving back to those in need, embodying the true spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
