IN celebration of its 100th anniversary this year, the Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) is organising its first-ever charity Mat Pilates event in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Known as the ‘100 Pink Bliss – Mat Pilates for A Cause’, this event will be held at Citadines Connect George Town on Oct 13 from 9.30am to 11.30am.

PAH chief nursing officer Dr Noraidah Guntalib announced the primary goal is to raise RM100,000 for the hospital’s Cancer Fund.

“The idea for 100 Pink Bliss came from recognising the growing interest in Pilates and seeing an opportunity to use this trend for a good cause. This is not only about physical fitness but also about mental well-being.

“It helps to strengthen the core, improves flexibility, reduces stress, and builds confidence.

“The funds raised will directly be channelled to the treatments needed for cancer patients. We are deeply committed to supporting those in our community, bringing hope, and compassion to them,” she said during the press conference at Citadines Connect George Town today.

Dr Noraidah also encouraged those battling cancer not to give up and to continue fighting the disease.

State Social Development, Welfare and Non-Religious Committee chairman Lim Siew Khim, who attended the event, praised PAH’s initiative.

“Breast cancer impacts not only the body but also the mind and spirit. Patients facing it need extraordinary courage and support from others.

“Today, we come together to raise awareness, offer our support, and ensure these brave women know they are not alone in this journey,” she said.

Lim extended her deepest appreciation to PAH for taking the initiative to organise this fundraiser.

“This symbolic event not only raises awareness for breast health, but it highlights the availability of the hospital’s Cancer Fund. It holds a special significance as part of PAH’s 100th anniversary celebration,” she added.

Lim encouraged the public to come with their families and friends to support this noble cause.

Citadines Connect George Town general manager Lee Boon Kae said he was honoured to PAH for choosing the hotel for this initiative.

“This is more than just an event; it fosters a sense of community,” he said.
