NOVEMBER 19 is just days away, and Pakatan Harapan is prepared for another opportunity to steer the country towards a brighter future, says Penang Pakatan Harapan chairman Chow Kon Yeow.
“November 19 is not just about winning Batu Kawan, Bayan Baru or any specific seats; but it is also about saving Malaysia from Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional.
“That is the mission on Nov 19.
“The Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional could not find issues to ‘attack’ Pakatan Harapan, except using race, religion, and ‘DAP communist’.
“They could only come up with old and expired statements such as ‘if Anwar wants to be the prime minister, he needs to ditch DAP’.
“They are always the same tactics.
“I believe that the people are mature enough to see beyond all their tactics and allegations,” Chow told a huge crowd during the Pakatan Harapan ceramah in Bayan Baru here last night.
He believed that the voters would do it right for the second time by giving their mandate to Harapan.
“I dare not imagine if the voters continue to return Barisan into power this Nov 19.
“I dare not imagine what would happen to Malaysia then.
“Another five years of kleptocratic rule? Another five years of robbing the wealth of the country?
“Another five years of mismanagement of our economy and finances?
“All these will be before us if we do not make the right choice on Nov 19,” he added.
Chow said the ‘Reformasi’ journey started in 1998.
“It took us 24 years to be where we are today.
“We have made it once to Putrajaya.
“But we paid a heavy price losing it to our political enemies and, worse still, to our enemies from within who betrayed the trust of the voters.
“That was the lesson we learned and we are wiser now. We continue to persevere.
“Yes, we are all disappointed with the Sheraton Move.
“Let us set aside our disappointment and do it right for the second time,” he said.
Chow, who is also the Chief Minister, said the Pakatan Harapan state government has managed to make Penang a ‘model state’ in Malaysia.
“The people of Penang have provided the state with the needed leadership.
“So let us continue to provide the country with the needed leadership under Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” he said.
Chow went on to say that the Penang government strived to provide balanced development for both Seberang Perai and Penang island.
“I have said this many times that the future of Penang is in Seberang Perai.
“In terms of total approved manufacturing investments, Penang has managed to hit a record of RM76.2 billion in 2021.
“Our total approved manufacturing investments over the last three years had been fantastic,” he added.
He thanked the people for showing their support.
“We could feel the increase in momentum.
“Are you ready for Nov 19?” he asked, receiving a resounding ‘YES’ from the crowd.
