WITH constant upgrading and tree planting activities happening at the Taman Areca in Lebuh Sungai Pinang 7, the park is expected to see a surge of visitors from time to time, Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim said.
In view of this, Lim, when interviewed by Buletin Mutiara today, said some 100 parking lots which were made available near the park, were not only meant for residents living around the area, but for visitors at the park too.
“Many visitors assumed that the lots here are only meant for the residents.
“This is an open car park that can be utilised by both the residents and visitors,” Lim said during a casual visit to the park with the Buletin Mutiara team today.
In a related development, Lim said the building works of two toilets for men, three for women and one for the disabled community are currently ongoing at the park.
“I understand the buildings works would be completed and ready to open by the end of this month.
“This will be helpful for all the visitors here, especially senior citizens, children and the disabled community,” Lim added.
The contractors were appointed by the Penang Stadium Corporation and Open Spaces (SCOS), a state-owned entity that oversees the project (Taman Areca).
