IN a bid to create a more interactive learning experience for pupils at SJK (C) Kampung Valdor, Penang, the school has upgraded its smart boards as part of its Smart Classroom initiative.

The upgraded smart boards now offer better connectivity, enhancing smoother online learning sessions for the pupils.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who attended the event, underscored the importance of digital learning and the need for teachers to utilise these advanced learning tools fully.

“These accolades reflect the collective contributions of sponsors and school authorities. Their support has helped elevate the pupils’ interest in learning,” says Chow.

Chow also highlighted a successful fundraiser earlier this year that raised RM800,000 to support the initiative. Additionally, he provided an allocation of RM40,000 to further enhance the learning environment.

“The pupils will benefit from our efforts and I hope these improvements will allow them to engage comfortably and effectively in their lessons,” said Chow, who is also the Batu Kawan MP.

The chief minister further mentioned that the school’s WIFI connectivity has been upgraded, offering faster speed and improved network access for both teachers and pupils.

“I firmly believe these upgrades will enhance the pupils’ learning capabilities and stimulate their progress,” he said.

In addition to the educational improvements, Chow announced that the school’s security measures had been beefed up, with the installation of a new closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs) system.

Bukit Tambun assemblyman Goh Choon Aik expressed enthusiasm for the enhancements to the school’s learning environment and voiced his hopes that the secondary schools in the state would also adopt smart boards.

“These efforts began in 2012 when SJK (C) Shih Chung Cawangan became the first school in the state to implement an interactive learning experience,” Goh said.

Also present at the event were south Seberang Perai District Deputy Education officer Mohamad Radzi Abdullah and the school’s board of chairman Ng Yan Keng.
