PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced that tomorrow (April 26), the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) will reveal details about the new domestic water rates for Penang, effective from Feb 1 this year.
Chow made the announcement early this year that water tariff rates for domestic users in the state would double the rates paid in the previous years.
Additionally, he mentioned that other information to be disclosed will cover the percentage increase in water rates, comparisons with other states, and the bi-monthly water billing system in Penang.
“The bi-monthly billing system, which has been in place for decades, will also be clarified by PBAPP in its statement,” he said during a press conference at Penang Development Corporation (PDC) in Bayan Baru today.
