Penang advancing towards becoming an innovation hub

STATE Human Capital Development, Science and Technology Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo has reaffirmed his commitment to realising Penang’s vision of becoming a leading hub for science, technology and innovation.

 

During his visit to Stratus Automation in Bayan Lepas today, a company that supplies world-class Hybrid Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS solutions) to the semiconductor, solar cell and storage disk industries Jagdeep highlighted the state’s ongoing efforts.

 

“We welcome companies like Stratus from around the world to Penang, as they support our goals, and we are committed to assisting them.

“Penang is focusing on research and development (R&D) and building a highly skilled workforce.

 

“Stratus chose Penang for its infrastructure and talent, and we are grateful for their decision. With these assets, we can effectively support the manufacturing industry,” he added.

 

Stratus Automation founder and chief executive officer Ryo Narisawa said that the company is recognised for having the world’s number one clean room conveyor transport system.

 

He also added that the Penang facility has over 500 employees and is the only global provider of hybrid transport systems, with continuous involvement in innovation.
