THE Penang Badminton Association (PBA) is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the launch of a Centennial Logo Design Competition, inviting creative minds across Malaysia to contribute their artistic vision for this historic milestone.
According to PBA president Datuk Kah Kau Kiak, the centennial celebration marks a significant moment not just for Penang’s badminton community but for the sport’s history in Malaysia.
“This logo design competition is a perfect blend of art and sports. It offers a unique opportunity to showcase the essence of Penang’s badminton heritage and its promising future,” he said in a statement recently.
The competition is open to all Malaysians, regardless of professional design experience. Participants have the chance to showcase their creativity and contribute to this event.
The logo design must align with the centennial celebration theme, reflecting the legacy and future of badminton.
It should be creative, easily recognisable, and suitable for both digital and print applications.
Participants must submit their designs in high-resolution JPEG or PNG format, along with the original design file in AI or PSD format. Personal details must not be displayed on the artwork.
A written concept description not exceeding 100 words explaining the design inspiration must be submitted in a separate document, along with the participant’s full name, gender, IC number, address, and contact details.
The submission deadline for the competition is April 15, 2025, at 11.59pm. Entries must be sent via email to [email protected].
The grand prize winner will receive RM3,000, while four selected finalists will be awarded RM500 each. The results will be announced in May 2025, and the winning and selected designs will be prominently featured in official centennial promotions, commemorative merchandise, and event materials of the Penang Badminton Association.
Kah stressed that the competition serves as a platform for the public to take part in the grand centennial celebration while honouring badminton’s rich history.
“We look forward to seeing designs that embody the spirit of Penang badminton – its tradition and innovation.
“Through this initiative, we also hope to encourage greater awareness and appreciation for the sport,” he said.
Design and badminton enthusiasts across Malaysia are encouraged to participate in this prestigious competition. For inquiries, contact [email protected].
