PENANG-born entrepreneur and SJK (C) Sin Kang alumnus Datuk Sim Choo Kheng is contributing to the school’s development in conjunction with its 118th anniversary celebration this year.

Sim, who is the founder of Sim Leisure Group and the owner of KidZania, said he would be contributing tablets to the school for the sake of the pupils’ learning development.

“These educational tools such as tablets, and Artificial Intelligence technology are important to encourage students to embrace the digitalisation era for future readiness.

“This usage is important to the primary education in building strong foundations and critical thinking skills beyond exam grades.

“A conducive learning environment is vital for the pupils’ development,” he said during a press conference at the school today.

On top of that, Sim said he would be sponsoring a learning trip for the Standard Five pupils to visit KidZania in Kuala Lumpur and a two-day overnight education trip at ESCAPE for Standard Six pupils.

“We will seek support from individuals and private companies for sponsorships as well.

“We hope former students can return to assist the school too,” he said, adding he aims to transform the school to a model school in the country.
