THE Penang government is giving out 10,000 face masks to the Kepala Batas special coordinator office for them to be distributed to the needy in the area.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the face masks are to be given to those in need in the rural areas.
“We have to care and protect everyone, including those who are living in rural areas.
“The danger of Covid-19 is real and the situation in our neighbouring state, Kedah, is worrying.
“However, the Covid-19 situation in Penang is still under control,” Chow, who is also the Penang DAP chairman, said in his speech before opening the DAP service centre in Pinang Tunggal today.
It is the DAP service centre of Sri Pinang Tunggal, Permatang Langsat and Kubang Menerong.
Chow urged the party members to uphold the principles of the party.
“It is not easy to set up a service centre and to keep it active.
“It is also not easy to have party members and volunteers who are willing to contribute their strength and to serve the rakyat.
“I hope that every member can showcase their leadership and serve with compassion,” he said.
Chow urged the DAP members to bring meaningful change to the country.
Also present were Penang DAP assistant secretary Yeoh Soon Hin, assistant organising secretaries Teh Lai Heng and Lay Hock Peng and political education director Soon Lip Chee.
