THE Penang government will not be complacent but is determined to resolve the issues facing the people in the state.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the state government would not rest on its laurels and would instead strive to bring betterment to the people.
“We have led Penang for 15 years. And we will continue to do our best to ensure the state progresses and to realise the Penang2030 vision.
“The Penang government will provide the best for the people by introducing people-centric policies.
“We pledge to serve and do our best for Penang and the people,” he said during the Paya Terubong Chinese New Year open house today.
The open house attracted thousands of people from all walks of life. Those present were treated to an array of food.
They were also entertained by a lion dance performance and other cultural dances.
Chow said he was proud that the open house attracted thousands of people.
“It is always great to see people of different faiths celebrating the festivals together,” he added.
Also present was Paya Terubong assemblyman Yeoh Soon Hin, who was the organiser.
Other dignitaries present were Chow’s wife Tan Lean Kee, Penang police chief Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, northeast district police chief ACP Soffian Santong, state Local Government, Housing, Town and Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo, Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) national vice-president Datuk Khoo Boo Lim, Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) chief executive officer Ashwin Gunasekaran and Penang Global Tourism (PGT) chief executive officer Ooi Chok Yan.
