THE completion of ASPEN Group’s first project – Tri Pinnacle – was a milestone event celebrated on Dec 8 by leaders from business, local government and associates of the company which was also graced by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

Tri Pinnacle started off as an idea envisioned by Datuk M. Murly, Aspen Group’s president and Group CEO and the proposal was well received by the state government back in 2015. Its completion is an exciting event for the thousands of eager homeowners who are keen to move in and be part of the Tanjung Tokong community.

The freehold property spanning on 140,800 sqft of land has a total of 1,317 units with total gross development value of RM520.9 million. It is made up of three blocks consisting of a block of Low Medium Cost (LMC) with the selling price starting from RM72,500 and two blocks of affordable units with the selling price starting from RM348,000 onwards with 2 parking lots for cars. Block A has 458 units while Blocks B and C each has 859 units.

“This project will be a turning point for the affordable housing development in the state as it will act as a catalyst to inspire other private developers to host similar affordable housing development in Penang,” Chow said in his speech as the guest of honour.

“Penang has always been in the forefront in giving importance to affordable housing projects and Aspen Group shares the same vision as the state government. We, as the Penang state government, are always concerned about the welfare of Penangites. With the rise of living costs in recent years, we see the need to introduce plans that would help to ease the burden and ultimately to battle poverty in the state,” he added.

Also present were exco member Datuk Halim Hussain and Aspen Group executive director Datuk Seri Nazir Ariff.

“It’s not an easy journey for us ever since we took the bold initiative to start this project. As we are the pioneer in doing this, we faced a lot of challenges from various perspectives throughout the years. There were no proper development guidelines and we got to counter propose and fight for our right with the authorities. This is because although we are building affordable homes but we are still required to comply with the similar compliances that were imposed to those who are building higher range homes,” Murly noted.
