Penang Home Ownership Campaign extended till 2023

THE Penang Home Ownership Campaign (HOC) will be extended till the end of next year, says state Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep.

Jagdeep said the HOC 3.0 would continue providing incentives for the developers as well as benefits for the buyers to purchase affordable homes.

“The HOC will be extended for another one year, from January 2023 till December 2023.

“Under this campaign, there will be a reduction of 10% in the price of affordable homes.

“On the island, the maximum ceiling price of RM300,000 will be reduced to RM270,000.

“Meanwhile, on the mainland, the ceiling price of RM250,000 will be reduced to RM225,000,” Jagdeep said during a press conference today.

(centre) Jagdeep said a housing expo will be held at Prangin Mall from tomorrow (Oct 7) until this weekend (Oct 9) from 10am to 10pm.

Jagdeep said the discount of 10% was meant to help the buyers to be more accessible to own affordable homes, which is the priority of the state government.

“The decision was made during the state executive councillors’ meeting yesterday as I had requested the 10% discount.

“This is to ensure the delivery of affordable homes to our people.

“It is truly a good decision taken by the state government and I would like to thank Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and the whole team for granting my request,”Jagdeep added.

Apart from that, Jagdeep also shared that there would be a housing expo at Prangin Mall from tomorrow (Oct 7) until this weekend (Oct 9) from 10am to 10pm.

“I would like to urge everyone to come and take part in the expo to find out more about affordable home projects,” Jagdeep said.

Jagdeep also hoped that the Federal Government would also do their part with regard to the provision of affordable housing in the state.
