The landmarks in Monopoly Penang range from cultural attractions, and local businesses to iconic places.

Among them are the Penang Bridge, Penang International Airport, Komtar, Fort Cornwallis, Penang Hill, Armenian Street, Clan Jetties, Pulau Aman, Batu Ferringhi, Tropical Fruit Farm, The Granite Luxury Hotel, Courtyard By Marriott Penang, Stonyhurst International School, Gurney Plaza, Queensbay Mall, and Tenby Schools Penang.

“Monopoly Penang will beautifully capture the essence of this remarkable state, transforming it into a board game that promises to unite families and friends, fostering stronger bonds and creating memorable moments.

“We can celebrate Penang’s unique charm through Monopoly Penang while having fun with our loved ones and friends,” he said in his speech during the launching event.

Ng extended his sincere appreciation to Hasbro and Winning Moves UK, integral partners in bringing this edition to fruition.

Winning Moves UK partnerships manager Jennifer Lau said this game was a celebration of Penang, from its landmarks to its culture.

“We have been wonderfully spoiled with choices when putting this edition together,” she said.

The Granite Luxury Hotel general manager Moh Wei Ken said the hotel was shocked and elated when it was informed months ago that The Granite would appear in Malaysia’s first Monopoly City Edition – Monopoly Penang.

“What an honour to be associated with one of the world’s most timeless board games which is akin to wholesome family fun and traditional values.

“It is also wonderful to have our very own card in Top Trumps Penang. Our inclusion in both games goes beyond business – it is a reflection of the cultural tapestry and vibrant spirit of Penang, which is woven into the very essence of our hospitality.

“I am immensely grateful for this recognition and see it as a beacon of inspiration for our team to continue raising the bar in service and guest experience,” he said when contacted.

Meanwhile, Mr Monopoly will be gracing the Courtyard By Marriott Penang with his presence today (Nov 15). Visitors to the Gin Library of the hotel stand a chance to meet and snap some unforgettable photos with Mr Monopoly at 5pm.
