THE state government welcomes private investors who are keen on showcasing Penang, its products, and uniqueness, together with the essence of several other countries – all in one location.
Penang Entrepreneurial Development, Trade and Industry Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain said Penang’s tourism could benefit from the concept adopted by Global Village in Dubai.
According to its website, Global Village brought the cultures of the world together. Visitors can discover 80 different cultures across 26 pavilions this season.
“This is an interesting concept where different countries can promote their product at their respective pavilions.
“We are here to understand and check out their concept. This can be a new tourism product for Penang,” he said at Global Village, Dubai, this evening.
Abdul Halim added that a private company had expressed interest on implementing such concept in Penang.
Also present were Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak and his wife Toh Puan Khadijah Mohd Nor, state Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang Entrepreneurial Development, Trade and Industry Committee member Goh Choon Aik, Penang State Financial Officer Datuk Dr Mohamad Farazi Johari, Seberang Perai City Council mayor Datuk Azhar Arshad, Penang Development Corporation chief executive officer Aziz Bakar.
