PENANG is increasingly recognised as a global hub for innovation, creativity, and business, as it welcomed 50 exhibitors representing over 125 world-class brands from around the globe for the third edition of the Northern International Audio & Visual Show 2025 (NIAVS).
Known for attracting international gatherings, Penang has once again played host to a vibrant and exciting showcase.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who officiated the event, expressed his delight at seeing the venue filled with a packed crowd.
“This year’s edition is particularly significant as we navigate a period of great transformation, marked by evolving technologies, shifting global alliances, and uncertain geopolitics.
“We remain steadfast and open to new investments, especially in key growth sectors such as audio-visual technology, digital media, and the broader creative economy.

“In fact, we are building on decades of experience. Penang is open for business and creativity, welcoming people from all over the world,” Chow said during the event.
For the public, this exhibition offers more than just cutting-edge technology, as it is an invitation to explore the intersection of art and innovation.
“We are also witnessing something extraordinary, as Gryphon Production is set to launch the inaugural Wave International Audio & Visual Show in Kuala Lumpur this October,” Chow added.
He emphasised that Penang is steadily gaining global recognition and reaffirmed the state’s full support for the NIAVS platform.

Chow also expressed his gratitude to the exhibitors for choosing Penang as the host city.
State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai highlighted the state’s commitment to providing platforms for such events.
“This exhibition brings together enthusiasts, professionals, and curious minds under one roof, all contributing to the growth of this dynamic industry,” he said.
Wong added that Penang continues to strengthen its appeal as a preferred destination for tourists and hopes more people will attend and experience this remarkable event.
Among those present were Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) chief executive officer Ashwin Gunasekeran, Penang Island City Council (MBPP) mayor Datuk A. Rajendran, Chief Minister Incorporated (CMI) general manager Datin S. Bharathi, Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) vice-president Datuk Khoo Boo Lim, and Gryphon Production director Wilson Teoh.
