BASKETBALL enthusiasts, get ready! The Penang Stallions 3×3 League 2025 is calling on players to join an exhilarating tournament set to ignite the local basketball scene.
Scheduled to take place from May 3 to June 28 at the World Hoops Centre in Queensbay Mall, this dynamic event is jointly organised by World Hoops and the Penang Basketball Association (PBA).
Penang Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen expressed his excitement, stating that this league marks a significant milestone in the state’s mission to elevate basketball, nurture grassroots talent, and foster a thriving sports culture.

“3×3 basketball, known for its fast-paced, high-energy gameplay, has gained global recognition, including its status as an Olympic sport.
“Now, we are bringing this electrifying format to Penang, providing local athletes, from rising talents to seasoned players—a platform to compete, grow and showcase their skills.
“But the Penang Stallions 3×3 League is more than just a tournament. It is a movement—one that fosters passion, builds character and unites communities through the spirit of sportsmanship.
“We believe this league will inspire the next generation of players, coaches and fans while reinforcing Penang’s position as a hub for sporting excellence,” Gooi told a press conference at the TimeOut Cafe at Taman Bukit Dumbar in George Town today.
Gooi also reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote youth development, active lifestyles, and community engagement.
“We recognise that sports play a crucial role in building discipline, teamwork, and resilience, and we will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure that Penang thrives as a centre for sporting innovation and excellence,” he said.
Gooi also announced that the inaugural season of the Penang Stallions 3×3 League will officially tip-off on May 3 at the World Hoops Centre, Queensbay Mall.
“Thus, I would like to encourage all basketball fans and sports lovers to come together, support our local athletes, and celebrate this exciting new chapter for basketball in Penang.
