THE Penang government has given its commitment to serve and assist residents through the state’s Housing Maintenance Maximum 80% Fund (TPM80PP).
State Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the Penang government had approved 182 TPM80PP applications at a cost of RM26.5 million, involving 303 projects.
“Those figures are from 2013 to Oct 25 this year.
“Out of the 303 projects involved, 176 were projects involving lift replacement or lift upgrade. The 176 projects amounting to RM14.4 million.
“We will continue to serve the people and assist them,” Jagdeep Singh told a press conference at Taman Lone Pine today.
The state has agreed to pay 80% of the total cost of RM221,000 to upgrade two lifts at Taman Lone Pine under the TPM80PP.
The remaining 20% or RM44,200 will be borne by the project’s management fund.
Paya Terubong assemblyman Yeoh Soon Hin urged the residents to help maintain their facilities.
“We seek your cooperation to maintain these facilities. Please do not default on maintenance payment,” Yeoh, who is also the Penang Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture and Arts Committee chairman, said.
Also present were the project management corporation chairman Loo Shee Han and property manager K.S Choong.
