THE Penang government believes that the Penang2030 vision necessitates not only government efforts but also the close collaboration of every Penangite, including the private sector and the business community.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said property developers, in particular, play a pivotal role in not just building real estate but in shaping communities.
“The Penang government is acutely aware that housing, especially affordable housing, has always been a concern for our people.
“Ensuring that everyone has access to their own home requires strong cooperation between developers and state government agencies.
“It is imperative that we respond to market demand and provide high-quality homes that are within the financial reach of our citizens.
“I hope that our newly appointed exco members responsible for local government, housing and town and country planning will review existing policies.
“This will enable us to be more responsive to the evolving needs of our people, ensuring that the dream of homeownership remains attainable for all,” he said in his speech during the opening of Baymont Residence in Teluk Kumbar today.
Chow extended his gratitude to WHH Land for the invitation to the grand opening. He congratulated the developer for its success.
Also present at the event was Berapit assemblyman Heng Lee Lee.
The guests and homebuyers were also greeted by popular Hong Kong stars – Philip Chan, Marco Ngai Chun Kit, Candy Lo, and Michael Tong Man Lung – who were present to grace the ceremony.
The artistes were happy to accommodate their fans during the unveiling of the show unit.
