Penang’s young dance stars prepare for national stage

THE 35th Penang Dance Showcase (Primary School category) concluded with eight exceptional teams selected to represent Penang at the upcoming national competition in January 2025, scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur.

 

A total of 39 primary school teams from across the state delivered mesmerising performances, showcasing their creativity and dedication in hopes of advancing to the national stage.

 

Organised by the Persatuan Tarian Desa Pulau Pinang, the event for the primary school category was held on Dec 17 and 18 at Dewan Sri Pinang.

 

Out of the participating teams, 28 were awarded the Gold Award for their outstanding performances, while 11 teams earned the Silver Award.

In addition, 10 Gold Award-winning teams were honoured with the prestigious Best Costume Award, recognising their remarkable creativity in costume design.

 

Among the recipients were SJKC Min Sin, SJKC Moh Ghee (Pusat), SJKC Chung Hwa 2, and SJKC Kwang Hwa Sungai Nibong, whose costumes dazzled both the judges and the audience.

The eight teams selected to represent Penang at the national level are SJKC Peng Bin, SJKC Beng Teik (Pusat), SJKC Poay Wah, SJKC Kim Sen, SJKC Sin Ya, SJKC Chong Cheng, SJKC True Light, and SJKC Kai Chee.

 

The event celebrated the immense talent, passion, and artistry of Penang’s young dancers, raising expectations for their performances at the national competition.
