PENSONIC Holdings Berhad (Pensonic), a leading Malaysian manufacturer of electrical home appliances, celebrated the grand opening of its new head office (Global Operations and Innovation Centre) on Oct 30 in Taman Perindustrian Bukit Minyak, Simpang Ampat.

“I was told that this new building will function as a Global Operations Hub to support our country’s vision of establishing a manufacturing centre, that will serve as the heart of the entire supply chain. Built on a multi-brand marketing platform, this hub is expected to form a strong Malaysian presence in the Asean and Middle East markets,” said Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng who was present to officiate the new head office.

Also present were State Legislative Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang and founder and Pensonic group executive chairman Datuk Seri Chew Weng Khak.

Despite misleading and untrue media reports of investors fleeing Penang and factory sites closing down, investments in Penang have remained strong.

Pensonic has proven that as it has grown in tandem with Penang’s strong economic performance.

The grand opening also commemorated the triple milestones of the 50th anniversary of Pensonic Mother Company Keat Radio, 33rd anniversary of the Pensonic brand and 10th anniversary of Pensonic Friends.

This new head office in Bukit Minyak, Penang built on six acres of land with more than RM50 million investment, features multi-use spaces with facilities and infrastructure that will be progressively well equipped with R&D laboratories, ample open spaces to encourage learning and collaboration both within the group and with external bodies, and will also be the centre where business strategies and innovation are planned and executed.
