WITH two days left before the Aug 12 polling, caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow is all out to visit several state constituencies to convey the unity message to the people in Penang.

Chow, who is also the Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, said he would continue his tour to Tasek Gelugor tomorrow (Aug 10), followed by stops in Kepala Batas and Permatang Pauh.

“I have probably visited most of the constituencies in the state to connect with the voters. It is equally important for me to engage with my constituents in Padang Kota.

“I believe that the PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) partnership could secure a two-thirds majority in the upcoming polls.

“It is important for us to be given the mandate to govern the state again as there are various infrastructure projects and initiatives to be carried out.

“We will also continue to obtain support from the Federal Government to bring various benefits to the Penangites,” he told reporters during a walkabout session at the Padang Tembak food court this morning.

Joining Chow during the walkabout session were Kebun Bunga candidate Lee Boon Heng, Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abd Rashid, former Kebun Bunga assemblyman Jason Ong, and party volunteers.

They were well received, especially by senior citizens.

Chow said that Penang has contributed a lot in terms of economic growth to the country.

“Penang is a main electrical and electronics (E&E) hub in the country. The state has attracted investors abroad to invest, especially with the present geopolitical tension between the US and China.

“We hope to solve the traffic issue in the state and we also hope to discuss further with Perak over a raw water deal in the spirit of unity,” Chow added.

Chow also urged voters to come out in droves to cast their votes this Saturday.
