THE Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB) has submitted its internal audit report to the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission Act (MACC) for review.
Its chairman, RSN Rayer, said that a high-profile auditing company conducted the internal audit, and the report’s findings revealed some red flags.
“There were several red flags in the report, indicating that certain procedures were not properly followed.
“We are submitting the report to the MACC, and should there be any need to take action, it will be taken by the MACC.
“We cannot disclose the red flags as they are under the jurisdiction of MACC,” Rayer said during a press conference at Komtar today.
Rayer also shared that PHEB had previously held town hall sessions covering various topics, including education, board management, and financial transparency.
It is learned that following the press conference, PHEB commissioners, led by Rayer, submitted the report to MACC.
Also present were PHEB deputy chairman Senator Dr R.A. Lingeshwaran, secretary Dr Vishantini Kanasan, state Housing and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu and several other board commissioners.
