THE eagerly awaited Batu Kawan Industrial Park 3 (BKIP 3), housing manufacturing facilities, is set to be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow.
Addressing a large crowd during the Perai Chinese New Year open house, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow expressed anticipation for the grand occasion.
“BKIP 3 will be our new industrial hub in the future and this initiative will bring greater development to Penang and the northern region,” said Chow, who is also Batu Kawan MP, during the open house in Chai Leng Park multipurpose hall.
Chow reiterated that the future of Penang lies in Seberang Perai, especially with the establishment of 10 industrial parks from north Seberang Perai to south Seberang Perai.
“We will have the first high-tech industrial park in Kepala Batas in the future,” he said, envisioning the hub as a crucial development for the state.
Furthermore, Chow expressed satisfaction with the pre-qualification tender opening for BKIP2 (Phase One Development), foreseeing positive prospects and development for the Byram area.
Perai assemblyman Datuk Seri S. Sundarajoo, the host of the open house, thanked the guests present.
The attendees enjoyed a variety of delicacies and stage performances during the event.
Notable figures at the open house included State Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang, Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid, Bukit Tengah assemblyman Gooi Hsiao-Leung, Sungai Puyu assemblyman Phee Syn Tze, Bagan Jermal assemblyman Chee Yeeh Keen, and organising chairman Datuk Ng Hooi Lai.
